Breast Augmentation in Korea
Breast augmentation increases or reshapes breast volume, most commonly with implants (silicone or saline) and sometimes with fat grafting. Choices include implant type, size/profile, and placement (over/under muscle). Korea offers experienced surgeons and modern implant options.

How it works
Breast augmentation is done under general anesthesia, typically 1–2 hours. A common sequence:
- Planning: implant type/size/profile, incision, and placement are chosen with the surgeon.
- Anesthesia: general anesthesia.
- Incision: usually in the breast crease (inframammary), sometimes around the areola or armpit.
- Pocket & placement: a pocket is made above or below the chest muscle and the implant (or grafted fat) is positioned; symmetry is checked.
- Closing: layered sutures close the incision; a supportive garment is fitted.
Implant choice and placement are individualized; your surgeon explains your plan.

Through Seoul Medical Insider patients pay no markup — accredited-clinic pricing is passed through transparently, and you get a written all-in quote before deciding.
What drives the price: implant type/brand, fat grafting vs. implant, anesthesia, hospital facility, and surgeon. Premium implants and combined procedures cost more.

Who it is for
Considered for increased volume, restoring volume (e.g., post-pregnancy), or improving symmetry. Candidacy depends on health, tissue, goals, and realistic expectations. Implant choice is individualized with the surgeon.
Recovery
- Week 1: soreness/tightness, especially under-muscle placement; supportive garment; limited arm use.
- Weeks 2–6: gradual return to daily activity; avoid heavy lifting/chest exercise per surgeon.
- Months 1–3+: implants settle into a natural position; final look develops.
Plan your stay for an initial post-op check before flying. Timelines vary.
Risks & considerations
Possible risks include swelling, bruising, infection, changes in nipple/breast sensation, asymmetry, implant-specific issues (capsular contracture, rupture, rippling, malposition), and the likelihood of future revision over a lifetime. Implants are not lifetime devices. Your surgeon explains implant-specific risks and monitoring. Accredited setting recommended.
